BCMS is a successful international boutique investment bank focused on providing financial advisory services to middle market companies, with a particular emphasis on sell-side M&A transactions. We are looking for an experienced, quantitatively strong junior banker to be responsible for leading the financial analysis involved in M&A transactions, for ensuring the timely and high quality completion of all transaction deliverables and for many aspects of project management.  The Senior Analyst / Associate responsibilities include: financial modeling, analysis and valuation, conducting client due diligence, drafting marketing documents (information memorandum, teaser, management presentation, etc.), researching industry trends, and supporting senior bankers throughout multiple transactions at any one time.

Candidates should have two to three years experience working for a reputable investment bank, although we will also consider candidates with related backgrounds, such as private equity.  Candidates should possess significant experience in performing the key analytical functions involved in an M&A transaction (with a preference for sell-side experience): financial analysis and modeling, valuation, prospective purchaser research and presentation material preparation.  In addition, candidates should have experience both in managing the internal elements of a transaction and participating in external meetings with clients and prospective purchasers. The candidate should also possess exceptional writing skills, an in-depth understanding of financial statements and GAAP accounting, as well as outstanding communication and client management skills.

Requirements:

  1. 2-5 years of experience in investment banking or a closely related industry

  2. Intensely quantitative and analytical skill set with superior financial modeling abilities and Excel proficiency

  3. Solid understanding of accounting and financial statements

  4. Direct experience with M&A transactions

  5. Strong written and oral communication skills

  6. Outstanding attention to detail and organizational skills

  7. Positive attitude, high energy level, and commitment to excellence

  8. Capacity and desire to work intensely, efficiently, and independently

  9. Tenacious at adhering to deadlines, with a strong sense of urgency and ability to define priorities

  10. Exceptional track record of academic achievement
