How we help your business sell
Please find below a summary of the work which we undertake for each and every one of our clients.
Step 1: The project brief
We look at your clients, your products and services, your marketplace, the company financials and all the other important aspects of your business to establish what you want to achieve. Then we appoint a Client Manager and Deal Leader to personally manage the entire business sale process with you.
Step 2: Exhaustive research
Our researchers identify an average of 230 potential acquirers from our company database of 50 million contacts. These will include potential acquirers with complementary product ranges, those in direct competition and international buyers.
At this stage, we begin to develop our unique 'Step Change Business Plan', the most important document in selling your business.
Step 3: Prospect generation
Once you have approved the list of potential acquirers our research has generated your Client Manager will work closely with our Prospect Generation Team (PGT). The PGT personally contact each potential acquirer to assess their levels on interest in making an acquisition. Everything is handled in strictest confidence; we don’t tell anyone your company name, and we ask each prospect to sign a nondisclosure agreement (NDA) before proceeding. Once NDA’s have been received your Client Manager contacts the potential acquirers to arrange face-to-face meetings.
Step 4: Qualification and bidding
With meetings arranged, your Deal Leader will take you through a ‘dry run’ negotiation meeting helping you to understand how to conduct a negotiation meeting and includes how to trade rather than concede, keeping sight of the objective, inviting competitive bids, etc. The preparation undertaken at this stage greatly assists the negotiation process and significantly reduces problems during meetings.
Step 5: Concluding the deal
We continue to handle negotiations between vendor, acquirer and advisors, and manage the due diligence process.
